AfroEurAsia

I’ve been sojourning in Porto, at the western edge of continental Europe, on my roundabout way to the annual Paris Photo art fair. Westward from here, there’s nothing but ocean until New York. Eastward, 7,000 miles (11,000 kilometers) across Eurasia, is Japan, where I first arrived in the Old World. This portrait of my Ethiopian friend Belan, wearing one of my collection of  arashi shibori silk kimonos, reminds me of the breadth and length of my wanderings in AfroEurAsia, home to more than 85% of the human race.
